It all started at a high school in Melbourne, Australia, where the band members met and began creating their first music. Now, the indie rock band has a platinum single, a massive global fanbase, and their song ‘Featherstone’ was featured in the popular series Grey’s Anatomy.

The Paper Kites are known for their warm and harmonious sound with introspective lyrics, making them beloved by romantics and indie enthusiasts. But the band continues to surprise. On their 2023 album At The Roadhouse, the acoustic sing-along tracks are sometimes swapped for an electronic, groovy sound. Frontman Sam Bentley explains: “We are whatever we released on the last record.”
