The Amsterdamse Bostheater is the summers theater of Amsterdam. Are program is full of theater performances, concerts and movie-evenings from May to September. Every evening we welcome between 500 and 1500 visitors in our open-air theatre.
This summer we present the theater spectacle Wildfire by musictheater company Orkater, the Boslab Theater Festival, the Cinetree Forest Film Festival and live concerts, amongst others Dope Lemon, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Nena and Kula Shaker.
In the summer months our team consists of around 30 employees and more than 100 volunteers. Every evening we eat together before the theater opens.
On concert/theater evenings, visitors often come earlier to enjoy each others company, a nice meal and some drinks. We have a bar on site, where we sell delicious burgers and picnic baskets in addition to drinks. For the burgerbar we are looking for two grill masters to prepare the burgers.
Your shift starts at 4:00 PM. You immediately turn on the grill, since it needs quite some time to preheat. Then, together with your burger bar colleagues, you prepare the kitchen in orde for everything to be ready once the doors of the theater open. In between you will of course enjoy a freshly prepared meal from our cook Ana. The burger bar opens at 6:00 PM (on concert days) or 6:30 PM (on theater days). From that moment on you are responsible for grilling the (vegetarian) burgers. The burgers can be ordered until 8:30 pm on theater days or until 9:30 pm on concert days.
When the burger bar closes, you high five your colleagues to the great evening. After that you are responsible for cleaning the grill and, together with your colleagues, for cleaning the burger bar. Your shift ends between 22:00 and 23:00 (depending on how busy the evening has been) and you can go home or have a nice drink at our forest bar.
On average you work about 6 hours a day, but this can vary, depending on showtimes and the number of visitors. There is certainly room to work more hours if you would like.
