ABSOLUUT. takes you to the most feared place at any festival: the portable toilet. When a festival-goer runs away to the toilets to escape the crowds, they are unexpectedly swallowed into an underground world. What follows is a spectacular journey back to the surface through dark corridors filled with brutal figures. A musical, energetic, and visual performance about friendship, escape, and getting lost.

In DIXI, we follow five friends at a festival. After a hurried trip to the toilet, there are suddenly only four of them left. Their friend is gone. Not just temporarily missing, as often happens, but truly gone. Vanished. As if the portable toilet has swallowed her whole. While the group makes their way through the pumping, sweaty, flashing crowd of the festival, the missing friend sinks down into the harsh, blue world beneath the DIXI toilets. Forced to adapt to this new world, he is faced with an impossible choice: cling to what you know, or leave everything you love behind forever.

About the makers

Arnhem-based ABSOLUUT. creates site-specific spectacle theatre that is young, fresh, and visually driven; it has the speed of a TikTok feed, the randomness of a shuffled playlist, the unpredictability of a blind date, and the humour of a Tom and Jerry scene. Their performances are raw and bombastic; with special effects, self-built sets, stunts, loud music, and a highly physical performance style, they create an intense theatrical experience that transcends the everyday.
