In a world driven by speed, we follow a clumsy flash courier in his impossible race against the clock. While the competition rushes past him with faster bikes, bigger orders, and higher ratings, he struggles — in vain — to keep himself afloat.

One day — in the heat of the race — he suddenly comes face to face with one of his competitors. In the midst of all the chaos and speed, they feel, in a flash, something they’ve never felt before. In that brief moment of clarity, a growing realization starts to take root deep inside: in a world that moves faster and faster, we miss the moments that matter most.

An impossible love begins to blossom, clashing with the laws of this rushed world. Can the lovers escape the unstoppable clock and choose what truly matters? In their fight against the system, they discover that sometimes, stillness is stronger than speed.

FLITS. feels like a hyperactive remix of Vis à Vis and Young Gangsters. The energy explodes off the stage with hilarious bike stunts and playful gags, including a pop-up restaurant on a luggage rack and a spectacular slow-motion collision between a car and a bike courier.

Biography

The Arnhem-based collective ABSOLUUT. creates location-based spectacle theatre that is young, fresh, and visually driven. It has the speed of a TikTok feed, the randomness of a playlist on shuffle, the unpredictability of a blind date, and the humor of a Tom and Jerry scene. Their performances are raw and bombastic; using theatrical effects, stage fighting, stunts, loud music, and a highly physical acting style, they create an intense experience that transcends the everyday.

ABSOLUUT. developed FLITS. during Winterkaravaan 2024, the talent development program of Karavaan. The performance was further developed under the wings of Theater Oostpool.
