Inspired by the book ‘Is Now The Time For Joyous Rage?’ (2023) and ideas by Judith Butler, Sara Ahmed and Mark Fisher, ‘KILLJOY-TO-BE’ reflects in a fun, funny and super musical way on gender mandates, patriarchal and capitalist structures and the recent rise of fascism.
About LASTESIS
Is an artistic, interdisciplinary and feminist collective from Valparaíso, Chile. The collective is dedicated to spreading feminist theses and demands through the means of performance (digital and analogue) combining physical performance, sound and visual arts with history, philosophy and social sciences. In addition, they have shared their artistic and activist work through a couple of hundred instances of conversation and multiple collaborative workshops; they have participated in various festivals, museums, universities, fairs, conventions and feminist meetings in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Bolivia, Colombia, the United States, Sweden, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Scotland and the United Kingdom in on-site instances, and virtually in around twenty other countries. They have also received multiple awards including the Jaime Castillo Velasco Award from the Chilean Human Rights Commission (2020), the Design of the Year Award in the digital category (2020), The Design Museum, UK, and recognition by TIME magazine in The 2020 TIME100, TIME’s list of the world’s most influential people.
About NITE riders
NITE riders is the brand-new junior company of NITE, following in the footsteps of the Poetic Disasters Club (PDC) from Club Guy & Roni. This exciting initiative offers young creators/performers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the art and groundbreaking techniques of creating interdisciplinary work – NITE-style.
Throughout an entire theatre season, the NITE riders participate in workshops, contribute to productions, and create their own graduation projects with guidance and support from the entire NITE family.
