On Friday, July 31, Matthijs van Nieuwkerk takes the stage at Live At Amsterdamse Bos together with the Sven Hammond Big Band with Feelin’ Alright! A show full of jazz, soul and groove, featuring the best music and great stories. It’s surprising, funny, unpolished and, above all, irresistibly swinging.

Matthijs is one of the Netherlands’ most well-known media personalities, best known as the host of the iconic TV show De Wereld Draait Door. With his sharp interviews, infectious enthusiasm, and deep love for music and culture, he has captivated a wide audience for many years.

Alongside television, music has always played an important role in Matthijs’ work a passion that now comes together on stage with the Sven Hammond Big Band. In 2024, the band already delivered a musical masterpiece at Live At Amsterdamse Bos, an evening we talked about long after. The big band is known for their raw soul, jazz, funk, and high-energy live performances. With top-tier musicians, the 16-piece band delivers an energetic and immersive live show.
