Theaterfestival Bosfest keert in augustus 2027 terug voor zijn vierde editie. Tien avonden lang presenteren we voorstellingen in de breedste zin van het woord, diep in het Amsterdamse Bos. Werk dat schuurt, zoekt en zich verhoudt tot de natuurlijke omgeving: rauw, intiem, fysiek. Met het bos niet als decor, maar als medespeler. Bosfest is een relatief jong festival met tijdens de laatste editie vijftien verschillende voorstellingen voor een volwassen publiek, variërend van 30 tot 60 minuten, voor 50 tot 200 bezoekers per voorstelling. Het festival groeit ieder jaar, met in 2026 totaal 4.608 bezoekers en een gemiddeld bezettingspercentage van 92%.
We starten per direct een open call voor makers van buitentheater in alle genres en disciplines. We nodigen je uit om een voorstel te pitchen voor een ‘voorstelling’ (lees bijvoorbeeld ook installatie of theatraal concert) dat past binnen de schaal en context van het festival. Het gaat om bestaand werk of nieuw te ontwikkelen werk dat zich leent voor een intieme setting in de open lucht.
Bosfest vindt plaats van 17 t/m 28 augustus 2027 (twee weken van dinsdag t/m zaterdag) en start en eindigt telkens op het festivalhart in het Amsterdamse Bostheater. Je speelt altijd één week lang de voorstelling, of in de eerste week van 17 t/m 21 augustus, of in de tweede week van 24 t/m 28 augustus.
Wil je pitchen? Stuur uiterlijk op 20 oktober 2026 een korte pitch (maximaal 1xA4) van je voorstelling naar bosfest@bostheater.nl. Als je videomateriaal en/of interessante links naar artikelen of recensies hebt, graag. Laat ook weten of de voorstelling op Bosfest in première gaat en wat je aan techniek en productie van het Bostheater nodig hebt.

Theatre festival Bosfest returns in August 2027 for its fourth edition. For ten evenings, we present performances in the broadest sense of the word, deep in the Amsterdamse Bos. Work that challenges, explores and responds to its natural surroundings: raw, intimate, physical. With the forest not as a backdrop, but as a fellow performer.
Bosfest is a relatively young festival. During its latest edition, we presented fifteen different performances for an adult audience, ranging from 30 to 60 minutes and welcoming between 50 and 200 visitors per performance. The festival grows every year, with a total of 4,608 visitors in 2026 and an average audience capacity of 92%.
We are now launching an open call for makers of outdoor theatre across all genres and disciplines. We invite you to pitch a proposal for a ‘performance’ — which could also be an installation, theatrical concert or another form of live work — that fits the scale and context of the festival. This can be existing work or a new work in development that lends itself to an intimate setting outdoors.
Bosfest takes place from 17 to 28 August 2027 (two weeks, Tuesday to Saturday). Each evening starts and ends at the festival hub at the Amsterdamse Bostheater. You will perform your work for one full week: either during the first week, 17–21 August, or during the second week, 24–28 August.
Interested in pitching? Please send a short pitch (maximum one A4 page) of your performance to bosfest@bostheater.nl by 20 October 2026 at the latest. If you have video material and/or interesting links to articles or reviews, please include them as well. Let us know whether the performance will premiere at Bosfest and what technical and production support you would need from the Bostheater.
